OSTRALE aims to challenge conventional norms, break them down and develop them further, whilst offering new perspectives and interpretations. OSTRALE uses contemporary art to mediate between different perspectives, viewpoints and values relating to society's culture and art. It becomes a place of exchange and encounter. Consequently, lively discussion and visitors' lived experiences of the artwork take centre stage in every guided tour.

Special tours
In an age when our daily lives are characterised by sensory overload, a fast-paced lifestyle and alienation, we often lose touch with our senses. Through dance and music, OSTRALE offers opportunities to consciously engage our senses and experience the exhibition anew through sensory and physical approaches.
During a visit to the exhibition, visitors have the opportunity to get creative themselves in the public workshop – the 'Atelier der Dinge' – exploring various forms of artistic expression. A small public gallery and a participatory wall newspaper complete the space. In addition, during the exhibition period, OSTRALE is offering workshops in which interested visitors, under the guidance of artists and art educators, can explore techniques, immerse themselves artistically in new content and create their very own work of art.
Discussion forums – have your say
Current socio-political issues are critically discussed and examined in forums and expert panels, together with art theorists, artists and art enthusiasts from both Germany and abroad.
